Director of Gift Planning

College of the Holy Cross - Worcester, MA
College of the Holy Cross seeks a Director of Gift Planning to develop and implement a strategy to enhance planned giving to the College of the Holy Cross, managing all aspects of a gift planning program that includes estate planning vehicles such as life income gifts, life insurance, retirement plans, and bequests. The Director will engage in careful and inventive prospect research, effective cultivation of prospective funders, and strategic development of funding proposals that reflect Holy Cross's mission.

From academics and athletics to opportunities for spiritual and personal development, the Holy Cross undergraduate experience is among the best in the nation—preparing students for fulfilling leadership roles in every aspect of life. Holy Cross is a highly selective, four-year, undergraduate, liberal arts institution and is ranked among the nation’s leading four-year liberal arts colleges. Over time, Holy Cross has continuously evolved to reflect the needs of its more than 3,000 students and changing times. Its Jesuit, Catholic identity has remained a constant throughout that evolution—informing and influencing everything the college does. As a liberal arts college, Holy Cross pursues excellence in teaching, learning, and research. All members of the Holy Cross community are challenged to be open to new ideas, to be patient with ambiguity and uncertainty, and to combine a passion for truth with respect for the views of others. Informed by the presence of diverse interpretations of the human experience, Holy Cross seeks to build a community marked by freedom, mutual respect, and civility. In every aspect of its community, Holy Cross champions diversity, equity, and inclusion. As a Jesuit, Catholic liberal arts college, it understands that the best way to understand the world is to embrace the full spectrum of perspectives and life experiences. To that end, Holy Cross welcomes students, staff, and faculty members of every gender, race, religion, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, and gender identity. Holy Cross encourages all community members to think critically about disparities in social structures, and to act toward positive change.

"Holy Cross is at a pivotal moment as President Vincent Rougeau has laid out an ambitious strategic plan to grow and sustain the vibrancy of one of the nation's leading Jesuit, liberal arts institutions. I could not imagine a better time to join Vice President Sean Scanlon and his team as we prepare for an upcoming campaign and build upon the foundation of steadfast support from an incredibly loyal community. We are excited to recruit talent that will be as passionate about the mission and serve as true collaborators in our effort to further strengthen the role of philanthropy in reaching our goals. Our Director of Gift Planning will serve as a critical role in our efforts to broaden awareness across generations of alumni as to the many ways to leave a legacy and plan for the future." — Michele Gagne Wertz, Associate Vice President, Individual Giving
