Director of Leadership and Major Gifts
National Coast Guard Museum Association
The National Coast Guard Museum Association seeks a Director of Leadership and Major Gifts to lead the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of all leadership and major gift prospects and donors, with a focus on the delivery of annual fundraising goals, development of planned giving strategy, and will conceptualize and launch a new fundraising campaign to support programming for the opening of the National Coast Guard Museum in 2026. The Director will have ownership for the delivery of annual fundraising goals relating to major gifts of $50,000 and above as well as signature leadership gifts of $1 million+ from individuals, corporations, and foundations. The Director will share responsibility for the design and implementation of a sustainable post-opening program for the National Coast Guard Museum and will have the unique opportunity to participate in the creation of a lasting tribute worthy of the men and women of the Coast Guard.
The National Coast Guard Museum Association (NCGMA) understands the value of museums and the purpose they serve in society. Its mission is to support the creation, sustainability, and growth of the National Coast Guard Museum. NCGMA serves as a vital link between the museum and its commitment to preserving and honoring the rich maritime heritage and courageous contributions of the U.S. Coast Guard. As a non-profit, supporting organization, the National Coast Guard Museum Association provides essential support to foster public awareness and ensure the museum’s continued growth — with the longer-term ambition of ranking among one of the Nation’s most valued museums. The National Coast Guard Museum will serve as a catalyst for the local community, driving economic growth and business development to strengthen the surrounding areas of New London.
"This is a rare opportunity to be part of something truly transformative — to apply your expertise and passion to a project of national significance. The museum will serve as a beacon of education, inspiration, and pride, and your contributions will help ensure its impact endures for generations to come. I invite you to consider joining us on this extraordinary journey. Together, we will create something enduring and impactful — a tribute to those who serve and a testament to what can be achieved when we come together with a shared purpose." — CAPT Wes Pulver, President
