Director of Strategic Partnerships – Western Region

Bob Woodruff Foundation
The Bob Woodruff Foundation seeks a Director of Strategic Partnerships – Western Region to expand and deepen the corporate and foundation funding relationships of the Bob Woodruff Foundation (BWF) nationwide, and especially in California, Washington, Oregon, Texas, Utah, and Colorado. The Director will lead new business development with Fortune 500 and other large companies, family offices, and foundations, positioning BWF as a trusted partner that connects corporate giving to vetted, high-impact programs serving the veteran community. They will be a high-performing fundraiser with demonstrated success in both nonprofit fundraising and corporate sales. The Director will be a proactive hunter — comfortable with high-volume cold outreach to senior-level decision makers, building pipelines from scratch, tailoring compelling pitches, and closing multi-million-dollar partnerships.

The Bob Woodruff Foundation ensures that the nation’s veterans, service members, and their families have stable and successful futures. When service members complete their military service, they need to find a place to live and a job. Or sometimes they’ve been injured and need care. This can cause sleepless nights as bills pile up. Partners can also struggle, and families become strained, but knowing where to turn is not always obvious. This is where the Bob Woodruff Foundation comes in. BWF raises awareness about the overwhelming challenges some veterans, service members, and their families face, and they invest in solutions to help support both the individuals and families. Through grant making, research, community building, public education, and fundraising – the Bob Woodruff Foundation makes millions of lives better.

"We are seeking a senior fundraiser who will bring positivity, initiative, and strong corporate relationships to our development team. A key focus for this role will be scaling up our 6 and 7 figure partnerships and building awareness of our mission in the western United States. While we already do significant programmatic work there, we are not as well known to donors in the region, and we see tremendous opportunity to grow. The ideal candidate is comfortable across the full spectrum of fundraising, from data entry to donor stewardship to making the ask, and thrives both independently and as part of a team. If this opportunity resonates with you, we would be excited to explore how you could help us expand our impact for veterans and their families." — Kelly Clark, Chief Development Officer
