Vice President of Development

The Florida Orchestra seeks a Vice President of Development who will play a central role in advancing the financial strength and long-term sustainability of The Florida Orchestra. The VP will lead strategies to generate more than $8 million annually in contributed income while helping position the organization for continued growth and impact. Working closely with the President & CEO, Board leadership, and a committed community of donors, the VP will cultivate, solicit, and steward major and principal gifts that support TFO’s artistic and community initiatives. This role will also help leverage and strengthen the Orchestra’s approximately $35 million endowment, ensuring that philanthropic investment and long-term assets together sustain the organization’s mission and strategic ambitions.
Celebrating its 58th season in 2025–26, The Florida Orchestra is recognized as Tampa Bay’s leading performing arts institution, the largest professional symphony orchestra in Florida, and one of the most vibrant and innovative orchestras in America. Its mission is to enrich life across the Tampa Bay region by inspiring, entertaining, and educating a broad and diverse audience through the unique experience of live symphonic music, ensuring that future generations continue to enjoy a legacy that celebrates the human spirit. The Florida Orchestra employs 70 full-time professional musicians and conductors under the artistic leadership of internationally acclaimed Music Director Michael Francis. The organization operates with an annual budget of approximately $16 million. The Florida Orchestra exists to INSPIRE-EDUCATE-UNITE and serves as a leader and beacon for the musical arts in Tampa Bay and throughout the state.
