The COO will have responsibility for the leadership and management of Project Angel Food’s finance, human resources, facilities, and technology functions as well as oversight of Project Angel Food’s kitchen operations which serves more than 1.5 million medically tailored meals each year to more than 7,000 individuals. Project Angel Food’s inaugural COO must be deeply committed to its mission and welcome the responsibility that comes with the trust that is placed in Project Angel Food by its clients, donors, volunteers, and community.
Project Angel Food nourishes the health and spirit of people facing critical and life-threatening illnesses by preparing and delivering medically tailored meals with love, care, and dignity. Since 1989, Project Angel Food has provided more than 20 million meals to critically ill individuals across Los Angeles County. As a leader in the Food is Medicine movement, the organization tirelessly advocates for the national expansion of medically tailored meals, ensuring that everyone battling illness receives the nutrition they need. Currently, Project Angel Food serves more than 1.5 million medically tailored meals each year to 7,157 individuals. Project Angel Food just moved into The Chuck Lorre Family Foundation Kitchen & Campus, which doubled the size of their facilities. This state-of-the-art campus will allow it to prepare and deliver three times as many meals, meeting the needs of the growing number of seriously ill people throughout Los Angeles County. Each year, more than 5,814 volunteers dedicate 47,881 hours to Project Angel Food — equivalent to the efforts of 26 full-time employees — ensuring that no one faces illness alone.
“The Chief Operating Officer will be a key operational and thought partner to me and the organization’s leadership team. This is an opportunity to help guide Project Angel Food through its next phase of growth while ensuring that our operations remain strong and mission focused.” — Richard Ayoub, Chief Executive Officer
