Major Gift Officer
Roanoke College - Salem, VA
Roanoke College seeks a Major Gift Officer who will advance Roanoke College’s fundraising efforts by identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and securing major gifts within a portfolio of 100 to 125 qualified prospects. The Major Gift Officer will analyze prospects' philanthropic capacity and inclination, develop and manage detailed prospect plans, maintain up-to-date records in the CRM system, and ensure annual fundraising goals are met or exceeded. By building strong, enduring relationships with prospects, the Major Gift Officer will align donor intent with the College’s institutional priorities, soliciting gifts and implementing stewardship strategies that foster long-term donor engagement. The Major Gift Officer will contribute to a collaborative team environment, serve as a resource for colleagues, and uphold the highest ethical standards while demonstrating professionalism, gratitude, and positivity in all interactions.

This position requires overnight travel, an average of four to six nights per month. Remote work will be considered for this position in consultation with the hiring authority.
