Vice President of Development and External Relations
People's Health Clinic - Park City, UT
The People’s Health Clinic is seeking a Vice President of Development and External Relations who will lead the People’s Health Clinic’s efforts to build a sustainable and thriving culture of philanthropy while ensuring that the story and impact of the clinic are communicated clearly, authentically, and powerfully to donors, partners, and the broader community. This role represents an exciting opportunity to help shape the future of philanthropy at the People’s Health Clinic. By strengthening donor relationships, building a sustainable development infrastructure, and elevating the clinic’s story and impact in the community, the Vice President will play a critical role in ensuring that the clinic can continue providing essential healthcare services to those who need them most.
The People’s Health Clinic is a volunteer-driven, community supported non-profit clinic providing high quality, no cost healthcare to uninsured residents of Summit and Wasatch Counties in Utah. They are passionate about the service they provide and express their mission in three short but powerful words “Here, We Care.” Founded in 1999 by a group of Park City residents who saw neighbors going without care, the People’s Health Clinic (PHC) began as a mobile clinic operating out of a single van. In 2009, in partnership with Summit County and Intermountain Health, they moved into their permanent home in Round Valley. Since then, they’ve expanded from that single van into a full clinic delivering care across 17 medical disciplines. The need that drove their founding has only grown and so has the community that makes their work possible
“We are now ready for our next chapter, and that is why we are seeking a Vice President of Development and External Relations. For much of our history, our fundraising has been anchored by an event model, and it has served us well. But the path to long-term sustainability, and to the kind of growth our patients deserve, runs through a comprehensive individual giving program: a real major gifts pipeline, deeper philanthropic partnerships, and the relational, year-round donor cultivation that transforms an organization. Building that requires senior development leadership with the specialized experience to design these systems, partner closely with the board and me, and carry major donor relationships forward with care.” — Dr. Mairi Leining, Chief Executive Officer
