Director of Strategic Philanthropy, Southeast Region

American Friends of Magen David Adom - Miami, FL
American Friends of Magen David Adom is seeking a Director of Strategic Philanthropy, Southeast Region who will serve as the senior fundraising leader for a nine-state region, including a large donor base in Boca Raton, Palm Beach and Miami, and significant opportunity in Tennessee, Atlanta, and the Gulf Coast. This leader will set the strategic vision for the region, drive fundraising efforts, and oversee regional operations to ensure continued growth and success. This leader will foster greater alignment and collaboration across the organization, strengthen the national brand, and help build a pipeline for board engagement and representation. The role will partner closely with an active and highly committed lay leadership structure, including the Leadership Council, whose members serve as influential ambassadors, philanthropists, and door-openers throughout the region.

The Director must reside in one of the three designated service areas (Miami, Boca Raton, or Palm Beach) and possess strong, established community connections within that location. This role requires a visible and active local presence, including the ability to work directly and in person with existing staff, as well as regularly engage with donors, community leaders, volunteers, and other key stakeholders throughout the region. The Director should be well-positioned to build and strengthen relationships within the Miami, Boca Raton, and Palm Beach communities and be available for frequent in-person meetings and events.

American Friends of Magen David Adom (AFMDA) is a partner in the vital work Magen David Adom (MDA) does every day for Israel’s 9.2 million population by funding a wide variety of emergency vehicles, a new national blood center, critically needed medical supplies, and rigorous EMT training. AFMDA is one of the fastest-growing Jewish nonprofit organizations in the US. As Israel’s official representative to the International Red Cross, Magen David Adom’s role precludes it from accepting governmental support for its general operations. Because of this arrangement, MDA relies on support from donors, including those from the United States, to keep its dispatch systems, training, and equipment the best in the world.

"The Southeast offers both stability and opportunity: a strong legacy built over decades, and a growing landscape that is still expanding its full potential. It is a collaborative, high-performing environment where professionals work closely together, support one another, and are aligned around mission and impact.

I invite you to join us in this work—helping to keep Israel safe, secure, and healthy, and ensuring that when a call for help comes in, the answer is always yes."
— Samuel Kong, Chief Development Officer
