Director of Development
Bridge Project - New York, NY
The Bridge Project is seeking a Director of Development who will lead the Bridge Project's private fundraising strategy, overseeing individual giving, foundation and institutional support and fundraising events across a rapidly growing national organization and aligning fundraising activities and results to organizational priorities. The Director will be responsible for building a diversified, sustainable revenue base, cultivating and stewarding major donors, including the current support base of high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals, managing a portfolio of institutional funders, and building the systems needed to scale development operations.
The Bridge Project operates under a hybrid model, with the expectation that staff will work Monday through Thursday in-person in the New York City office.
The Bridge Project is the nation’s first multistate direct cash program for moms and babies. They work to ensure no baby is born into poverty by investing directly in the perinatal period, centering mothers as storytellers and changemakers, and building a collective movement to successfully advance policies that strengthen families from the start. Since 2021, the Bridge Project has grown to 14 states across the U.S., committing $144+ million in direct, unrestricted cash support to over 4,450 moms and babies. Their model is simple: they give moms unconditional cash — no strings attached.
"I am seeking a Director of Development who can match our ambition with a structured, strategic approach that powers our continued expansion while ensuring we remain focused on our core programs and priorities. The person in this role will be a close advisor and thought partner to me, our Board, and our dedicated NYC-based staff, and play a critical role in refining and sustaining the systems and processes that can take us forward. If you are passionate about impact, eager to roll up your sleeves alongside a smart, creative and inclusive team, and energized by building strategies, systems and relationships, you are exactly who we’re looking for." — Suzanna Fritzberg, Executive Director
